Ningxia Medical University

Ningxia Medical University, previously known as Ningxia Medical College was founded in the year 1958. In 2008, Ningxia Medical University got the approval from the Ministry of Education and become a comprehensive medical university in China. Ningxia Medical University is located in YinChuan, the capital city referred to as “A pearl in the north of the Great Wall” in the Northwest. In over 50 years of development, the university has it’s tremendous progress and enforcement in specialty development, infrastructure, teaching staff, teaching and research level etc. Now, it has become a higher learning medical school with coordinated development in its scale, construction, quality and efficiency. Ningxia Medical University is also very influential and well-known among other medical schools. Ningxia Medical University covers the major of western medicine, traditional Chinese medicine and other medical specialties. They offer teaching programs to the postgraduates, undergraduates and also the three years training student. Not just that, the university also consist of 16 secondary schools, 5 affiliated hospitals, 12 teaching hospitals and 60 field practice platform. Now, the university has over 8000 students, including 1000 postgraduates and 80 international students. There are 146 professors and 253 associate professors among the teaching staff. Ningxia Medical University has been actively doing international exchange and cooperation. Till now, it has established friendly academic collaboration with many medical and health organization as well as university around the world. Ningxia Medical University has started their short-term courses for international student since the year of 1993. And since the year of 2005, the university has started to conduct their specialty of Clinical Medicine in English for the international students. With the authorization from the Minister of Education to enroll international students, a more convenient and comfortable living and study environment will be provided to the international student who wish to study in Ningxia Medical University.
